Vision Board: Always Dreaming – #MFRWauthor

Welcome back to this week’s scintillating edition of the #MFRWauthor blog challenge. For week #16, our task is to write about My Biggest Dream in Life.

This one should be super-easy, right? Turns out… not so much.

I really don’t have one overwhelming dream or goal for my life.  Instead, I have smaller goals that I am happy to say I can generally tick off my internal vision board once in awhile.

Vision board - author RObin Michaela

For example, at one time my dream was to make it through my dental hygiene degree program and pass my Boards exams (done!).

And lately, I’ve resurrected my long-ago dream of being an author (I self-published a Kindle Worlds novella, Baby, Count on Me, in 2016, so…done!). Robin Michaela - Baby, Count on Me

Which means my next goal (this probably qualifies as a Big Dream) is to write-and-then-sell enough books to allow me to quit my day job. And, if I was really uber-greedy about Dreaming Big, hitting a best seller list would rank right up there, as well.

Vision board - author Robin Michaela

My daughter, author August Kyle, keeps a sort of “fluid” vision board active on the wall of her apartment. She constantly writes her dreams on sticky notes, replacing one or two with others as she accomplishes them. Obviously, she has a lot more dreams than I, lol!

But, if I was to construct a vision board like hers, I’d write sticky notes about the places I want to visit (in no particular order):

  • Macchu Pichu
  • The Great Wall of China
  • Australia
  • Germany
  • Alaska
  • Japan

I’d also like to (someday) get a trailer or RV and travel throughout the U.S. Instead of hitting the highlights of one place in a quick week’s vacation, I want to be able to linger along shorelines, hike verdant trails, and indulge in the culture of an area.

What’s on your vision board? Leave a comment below and visit some of the other authors in this blog challenge to see what their Big Dream is. Good luck achieving yours!

    Congrats on passing your course!

I never thought about a vision board. It’s a great idea though. Seeing your goals daily helps to keep them at the forefront of your mind so they don’t get pushed aside and forgotten.

Um, yours is *just* a little over the top, lol. But, it’s great to see everything right in front of you. It’s got to be very satisfying when you can take a sticky note down and know you’ve met another goal. 🙂

Congratulations on the novella. It’s a great start for your career. I don’t have a real vision board, just what’s in my head, but if I did there would be a lot of places on it: Germany, British Isles (again), Iceland… I could go on but won’t. I hope you get to all the places you want to go and have a brilliant writing career!

Would love to see Italy, Greece, and France!

Is it bad that when I saw your 1st picture, I was reminded of the PCI commercial…”I’m a dental assistant…I have job I love, drive a nice car, and have a fun weekend planned…”???
