Music to Write By – #MFRWauthor

Author Robin Michaela at robinmichaela.com

This week’s blog challenge is “music to write by.” This is gonna be a super short post because I am one of those people who can’t concentrate if there is noise around me.

I mean ANY noise.

I’ve been known to shut my office door when I’m writing because my awesome hubby is making lunch or dinner for us and rattling the pots and pans too loudly. Seriously.

Rarely (VERY rarely), I’ll listen to Enya or a little New-Agey-type music when I am working on the first draft of one of my romance books. Or, I have a cool wind chime contraption with a fan in it and I will occasionally turn the fan on so the wind chimes ring melodically in the background. But, as much as I love the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, or the Bee Gees, I totally lose my focus if I hear them because my brain wants to sing along instead of creating conflict for my characters.

What music do you like to listen to when you are working on a hobby or creating something? Leave a comment in the section below and thanks for stopping by!

Sounds around me aren’t an issue, but I totally lose all concentration when The Hubs insists on trying to have a conversation with me. Sadly I don’t have an office door to shut because our dining rooms serves as my office. Thankfully he did buy me an awesome pair of headphones so I can tune him out and enjoy my music while I get some writing done.
